Biographical Information

Kenji Nagasaka was taken by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 8th round of the 2001 NPB draft, and he only got 7 at-bats in his first two seasons. He hit .174/.174/.261 in 25 games in 2004, then he was assigned to the Rakuten Golden Eagles after the Buffaloes merged with the Orix BlueWave. Nagasaka recorded a .188/.235/.281 batting line in 39 games in 2005, and he got the only hit for Rakuten in the record-setting 26-0 shutout game on March 27, preventing a no-hitter. However, he only had 3 more at-bats for the top team before he announced his retirement in 2007.
