Biographical Information

Kenichi Tagami was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2nd round of the development phase in the 2009 NPB draft, and he only played 2 games for the top team in 2010. He was 4-for-16 in 2011, and he played 31 games with a 4-for-13 record in 2012. Tagami only got 7 at-bats in 24 games in 2013, and he hit .231/.286/.256 in 2014. He also appeared in the 2014 Nippon Series as a pinch-runner. Tagami only played 9 games in 2015, and he announced his retirement. In 123 games in NPB, he only had 77 at-bats; a frequent pinch-runner, he scored 34 times and stole 11 bases in 13 tries.
