Biographical Information[edit]
Kengo Ohta has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ohta was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 8th round of the 2014 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He hit .171/.190/.256 in 40 games in 2017, and he struggled again in 2018 as his batting line was .194/.237/.306 in 54 games. The Fighters then traded him with Hirotoshi Takanashi to the Yakult Swallows for Ryota Yachi and Ryo Akiyoshi, and he recorded a .251/.307/.330 batting line in 90 games in 2019. Ohta only got 4 at-bats in 2020, and he went 16-for-72 in 2021. He hit .327/.367/.500 in the minors in '21, and he led the Eastern League in batting and slugging. Ohta played 37 games with a .271/.323/.356 batting line in 2022, then he went 8-for-41 and 10-for-49 respectively in the next two seasons.
