Biographical Information[edit]

Kendai Gen has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Gen was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 2nd round of the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Eiji Taniguchi.[1] He hit .138/.215/.213 in 111 games in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2021, and he improved to .239/.312/.299 in 2022. He debuted on August 9 against the Rakuten Golden Eagles, and he got his first hit 2 days later against Hayato Yuge. Gen then hit .245/.297/.304 in 84 games in the minors in 2023, and his batting line was .250/.304/.313 in 2024; he also had a 1-for-8 record for the big club. Gen played 31 games with a 1-for-7 record with the top team in 2025 mainly as a pinch-runner, but he suffered from thrombosis in September and his season ended.
