Biographical Information[edit]
Keitaro Kitagawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Kitagawa signed with the Senators club in 1946, and he only pitched one games in his first season. He was 3-13 with a 3.52 ERA in 1947, and he went 6-9 with a 3.57 ERA in 1948. Kitagawa struggled in 1949 as he had a 10.94 ERA in 6 games, and he went to the Nishitetsu Lions when the JPBL split into two leagues. He was 1-3 with a 8.10 ERA in 1951, and he was traded to the Mainichi Orions for Sunao Imakurusu and Kashiwa Odano. Kitagawa went 3-2 with a 2.59 ERA in 1952, and he announced his retirement. After playing in the industrial league for several years, the Takahashi Unions signed him as an infielder in 1956. Kitagawa played 121 games with a .186/.210/.289 batting line, and his professional career ended when the Unions were expelled after that season.
Overall, Kitagawa was 13-29 with a 4.20 ERA, struck out 118 and pitched 385 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
