Biographical Information[edit]
Kei Kitahara signed with the Nishitetsu Lions in 1954, and he went 4-3 with a 3.26 ERA in his first season. He struck out 4 in 2 shutout innings in the 1954 Nippon Series Game 2, but the Lions lost to the Chunichi Dragons in 7 games. Kitahara slumped to 1-2 with a 6.14 ERA in 1955, and his ERA was 3.46 in 15 games in 1956. He only pitched 2 games in 1957, and he announced his retirement.
