Biographical Information

Kazuyuki Akasaka was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the high school phase in the 2007 NPB draft, and he spent his first seven seasons as a pitcher, mainly in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was turned into an outfielder in 2010, and he hit .326/.408/.372 in 35 games in 2015. Akasaka was 0-for-10 in 2016, and he announced his retirement in 2017.
