Biographical Information

Kazushi Hosomi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.

Hosomi was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 1995 NPB draft, but he spent his first five seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was 5-3 with a 3.34 ERA in 2000, and he went 0-5 with a 6.9 ERA in 2001. The BayStars then traded him with Yoshihito Ishii to the Seibu Lions for Satoshi Nakajima and Hisaki Tomioka, and he had a 3.55 ERA in 27 games in 2002. However, Hosomi only pitched 2 games in 2003, and he was released. The Hanshin Tigers picked him up, but Hosomi didn't get an appearance with the big club then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Hosomi was 5-9 with a 4.42 ERA, struck out 94 and pitched 144 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
