Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuhito Nishimoto pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.
Nishimoto signed with the Seibu Lions in 1980, and he pitched one game in 1981. He had a 4.68 ERA in 24 games in 1982, but he only got 27 appearances combined in the next six seasons. He closed out their 7-2 loss in the 1985 Japan Series Game 5, with a shutout inning after relieving Hisanobu Watanabe; Seibu fell to the Hanshin Tigers in six games. Nishimoto finally got some chances as he recorded a 2.11 ERA in 37 relief outings in 1989, then he went 4-0 with a 3.67 ERA in 1990. He had a 3.18 ERA in 10 appearances in 1991, but he stayed in the minors for the next two seasons and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Nishimoto was 12-9 with a 4.01 ERA, struck out 104 and pitched 260 2/3 innings in 10 seasons in NPB.
