Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuhito Futagami pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Futagami was a star pitcher at Hosei University who helped Japan win a Gold Medal at the 2009 Asian Championship. He was the first-round draft pick of the Hanshin Tigers in the 2009 NPB draft. He was 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA for the Tigers in 2012 but had spent the rest of his time in the minors. Futagami stayed in the minors again in 2013, and he had a 8.79 ERA in 11 appearances in 2014. His ERA was 2.57 in 12 games in 2015, but he failed to return to the big club in 2016 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Futagami was 0-3 with a 5.31 ERA, struck out 37 and pitched 40 2/3 innings in 3 seasons in NPB.
