Biographical Information

Kazuaki Yamano was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 2nd round of the 1985 NPB draft, and he didn't reach the big club in his first three seasons. He hit .249/.299/.286 for the San Jose Bees in 1986, and he played 110 games with a .245/.315/.306 batting there in 1987. Yamano went 10-for-29 in his NPB debut in 1989, but he only got 5 at-bats combined in the next three seasons. He was 6-for-36 in 1993, and he went 0-for-1 in 1994. The Lions then traded him with Katsuyoshi Murata to the Chunichi Dragons for Hiroyuki Maehara and Masaji Shimizu, but he only played 3 more games before he announced his retirement in 1997.
