Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuaki Goto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Goto signed with the Hanshin Tigers in 1969, and he went 4-for-29 in his first season. The third baseman then had a .225/.267/.338 batting line in 1970, and he played 88 games with a .237/.277/.361 batting line in 1971. Goto hit .212/.257/.325 in 1972, and he crushed 9 homers with a .243/.291/.339 batting line in 1973. He then recorded a .250/.310/.392 batting line in 1974, and he lost his spot after Masayuki Kakefu shined in 1975. Goto went 12-for-64 that season, and he was traded with Masanori Murakami to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Masayoshi Higashida. He hit .221/.286/.247 in 46 games in 1976, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Goto hit .231/.278/.339 with 311 hits and 31 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
