Biographical Information

Kazuaki Fujishiro was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the first round of the 1976 NPB draft, and he was 2-3 with a 4.71 ERA in 1977. He only pitched 2 games in 1978, and he went 4-7 with a 3.97 ERA in 1979. Fujishiro slumped to 4-3 with a 5.00 ERA in 1980, then his ERA rose to 5.68 with a 1-2 record in 1981. The Giants traded him to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Shinji Sasamoto, and he was 3-4 with a 4.08 ERA in 1982. Fujishiro allowed 5 runs in 9 1/3 innings in 1983, and he announced his retirement. He coached the minor league team of the Giants from 1993 to 1996, and he was their pitching coach in 1997. He became the pitching coach of the Samsung Lions in 1998 KBO, and he also managed the Kochi Fighting Dogs from 2005 to 2007.
