Biographical Information[edit]
Katsuo Takada became the coach of Akashi High School after college, and he signed with the Lion club in 1938 as a player-manager. Takada led the Lions to a 19-20 record in the 1938 fall season, and they were 33-58 in 1939. Takada also played one game on August 7, and he got a single against Hall of Famer Hiroshi Nakao in the only at-bat of his career. Takada's Lions finished last in 1940 with a 24-76 record, and he was fired. The Nankai club named him their manager in 1943, but Takada led them to a 17-30 record and Kisaku Kato replaced in the middle of the season.
