Biographical Information

Catcher Karl Ellison played at Vanderbilt University from 2014-2016 and split catching duties with Jason Delay. In his freshman season, Ellison was behind the dish for the final game of the 2014 College World Series when the Commodores beat the University of Virginia Cavaliers. Ellison transferred to Lynn University for his final season in 2017. Ellison played professionally in 2019 & 2021 with the Lake Erie Crushers of the independent Frontier League. He moved into affiliated ball in 2022 in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system. The Phillies traded Ellison to the Toronto Blue Jays on August 31st where he stayed through the 2023 season.

The Phillies brought Ellison back to the organization in 2024 as a development coach for the Reading Fightin Phils. He returned to the team in the same capacity in 2025.
