Biographical Information

Junki Itoh played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years

Itoh was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the second round of the 2008 NPB draft, but he primarily stayed in the minors in his first two seasons; he only pitched 4 games combined for the big club. He was 2-4 with a 3.59 ERA in 2011, then he recorded a 0.93 ERA in 2 starts in 2012. Ito went 0-2 with a 3.96 ERA in 2014, then he had a 5.68 ERA in 2 games in 2015 and a 6.05 ERA in 6 games in 2016. He finally had a productive season in 2017, and he notched 8 holds with a 3.88 ERA in 39 appearances. Ito pitched 11 games with a 3.95 ERA in 2019, but he allowed 8 runs in 1 1/3 innings in 2020 then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Ito was 7-11 with a 4.26 ERA, struck out 146 and pitched 209 1/3 innings in 10 seasons in the NPB. He was 26-24 with a 3.39 ERA in 147 games in the Japanese minors.
