Biographical Information[edit]
Joshua Mathew was a key part of the Palauan national team's Gold Medal run in the 2025 Pacific Mini-Games. After having allowed 3 runs in 2 innings against the Northern Mariana Islands in his first hill appearance, he was summoned to replace Avery Amos with two outs in the first, a 1-0 deficit and two on against Guam in the title game. He got Ayden Aguon to end that jam then cruised through the final six innings (5 H, 1 BB, 3 K) to pitch his team to the Gold, beating Sean Egenias. He was also their backup shortstop in the event, handling 8 chances error-free and going 0 for 5 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, two steals and two runs. He finished 5th in IP and 5th in ERA (between Jose Deleon and Javier Concepcion). [1]
