Biographical Information

Taiwanese-American Jonathon Long has played in the minors and for the Taiwanese national team.

Long was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 9th round of the 2023 Amateur Draft, and he hit .260/.380/.532 in 23 games for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2023; he also went 3-for-7 with the ACL Cubs. He then crushed 10 homers with a .247/.346/.417 batting line for the South Bend Cubs in 2024, and he extended his solid performance as he hit .340/.455/.528 with 7 homers with the Tennessee Smokies. Long stayed in the AAA for the entire 2025 season, and he recorded a solid .305/.404/.479 batting line with 20 homers and 91 RBI. He then made it onto Taiwan's preliminary roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, but he withdrew before the event due to elbow injury.
