Biographical Information[edit]
John Sullivan was a minor league player for the Grand Rapids ball club of the Northwestern League during the 1883 season. The following year, Sullivan fell off a balcony and he went deaf as a result. He was noted as having suffered from extreme mental problems until he eventually ended his life by intentionally overdosing on morphine in 1886.[1]
