Biographical Information[edit]
John Sardinha played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 2 years.
Sardinha signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1959, and he went 10-10 with a 3.35 ERA in his first season. He was the first foreign player in Nankai's history who was not part of the Japanese diaspora. Sardinha had a 2-3 record with a 3.06 ERA in 1960, but he lost his spot after Joe Stanka joined the team. He left Japan after the 1960 season.
Overall, Sardinha was 12-13 with a 3.28 ERA, struck out 99 and pitched 197 1/3 innings in 2 seasons in NPB.
