Biographical Information[edit]
John Lowry played with the Washington Nationals of the National Association in 1875. A centerfielder, he played 6 games, hitting .136. It was thought that he was from Baltimore, MD and someone with that name was listed in the city's directory until 1903, but it wasn't the ballplayer. His actual last name was "Lawrie", which made it possible to identify him.
