Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Puzey played in the minor leagues for 5 seasons.

Puzey won Bronze with Team USA in the 1983 Pan American Games and Silver in the 1983 Intercontinental Cup. [1] The St. Louis Cardinals took him in the 17th round of the 1984 amateur draft, and he hit .247/.354/.363 in 66 games for the Erie Cardinals in his first season as a pro player. Puzey then had a .265/.368/.338 batting line for the St. Petersburg Cardinals in 1986, but he only played 17 games with a 10-for-47 record with the Springfield Cardinals in 1987. He batted .252/.368/.315 in 49 games for the Arkansas Travelers in 1988, and he also recorded a .250/.338/.317 batting line for the AAA Louisville Redbirds. Puzey played 36 games with a .301/.405/.456 batting line for the Redbirds in 1989, and he announced his retirement. He was elected into the University of Nevada Hall of Fame in 2016.[2]
