Jim Hendry

From BR Bullpen

Jim Hendry was the coach of the Creighton Blue Jays in college from 1984 to 1991, leading the school to the 1991 College World Series.

Hendry was the Director of Player Development for the Chicago Cubs in 1995 and the club's Scouting Director from 1996 to 2000. He moved up to assistant GM in 2001 and became General Manager of the Cubs since July 2002. After spending 9 seasons as the team's GM and taking them to the playoffs three times, Hendry was fired during the 2011 season. He was often criticized for signing veteran players to expensive contracts that they could not live up to.

In 2012, Hendry was hired by the New York Yankees as a special assignment scout.
