Jet Set nightclub roof collapse

The Jet Set nightclub roof collapse was a structural failure that occurred on April 8, 2025 during a concert held at a popular nightclub in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

Former major leaguers, Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco, were among the over 100 persons killed in the tragedy, along with Nelsy Cruz, the sister of Nelson Cruz who was serving as the governor of Monte Cristi Province at the time of her death. Esteban German was also present at the club that night but managed to escape, leaving shortly before the roof collapsed.
