Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Jaxon Willits was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player when he led the University of Oklahoma to a national title in the 2026 College World Series. In his junior season with the Sooners, he batted .307 in 62 games with 7 homers and 52 RBIs. During the series, he had a hit in all six games he played, and multiple hits in five of these, going 13 for 26. That included a 3 for 4 performance in the final game on June 22nd, a 13-2 win over the University of North Carolina to secure Oklahoma's first tile since 1994. Two years earlier, as a freshman, he had been the All-Tournament shortstop at the 2024 Big 12 Conference Tournament.
He comes from a prominent baseball family as his father Reggie Willits was a major league outfielder from 2006 to 2011 and his younger brother Eli Willits was the first overall pick of the 2025 amateur draft.
