Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Morrissey was a switch-hitting infielder and outfielder from Lansing, MI who played in the major leagues for the Cincinnati Reds in 1902 and 1903. He graduated from Lansing High School in 1893 and captained the school's baseball team.[1]
Before and after his time with Cincinnati, Morrissey played professionally for the Lansing Senators, Tacoma Rabbits/Colts, Chatham Reds, Fort Wayne Indians, Minneapolis Millers, Muskegon Reds, Rockford Red Sox, Columbus Senators, Lawrence Colts, and Grand Rapids Orphans. He later returned to the Lansing Senators as a player-manager and managed the club for eight consecutive seasons.[2] Morrissey also served as head baseball coach at Michigan State University in 1916, 1917, and 1922.[3][4]
