Biographical Information[edit]
Issei Nakamura was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 7th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he only got 29 at-bats for the big club combined in his first seven seasons. The Dragons released him in 2011, and he signed with the Orix Buffaloes. Nakamura hit .204/.241/.333 in 60 plate appearances over 62 games in 2012, and he went 9-for-34 in 2013. Nakamura then recorded a .246/.290/.333 batting line in 62 games (64 PA) in 2014, but he slumped to .200/.200/.286 in 2015. He was 1-for-5 in 2016, and he announced his retirement. He then became the fielding coach for the Buffaloes in 2017.
Overall, Nakamura hit .234/.274/.346 with 50 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
