Biographical Information[edit]

Israel Mota played in the minor leagues and in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Mota hit .215/.356/.313 with the DSL Nationals in 2013, and he improved to .310/.355/.485 with 8 homers in 2014. He was named a Dominican Summer League All-Star, tying for 7th with 19 doubles and trailing only Francis Martinez in dingers. He slumped to .221/.272/.291 in 2015, and he recorded a .216/.333/.381 batting line in 2016. Mota played 5 games with a 2-for-11 record with the Auburn Doubledays in 2017, and the Nationals released him.

He signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 2019, and he was 10-for-32 in the NPB Farm Leagues. He hit .204/.325/.367 with 4 homers in 2020, and he also went 2-for-9 with the big club. Mota was released after that season, and he played for the independent Hinokuni Salamanders in 2022. He hit .298/.333/.544 for the Tigres de Chinandega in the winter, and he jumped to the Kitakyushu Shimonoseki Phoenix in 2023. Mota was 7-for-31 with the Tigres de Cartagena in the winter, and he crushed 26 homers with a .372/.452/.757 batting line with the Salamanders in 2024. He set the Kyushu Asia League records for most homers, RBI and slugging percentage.
