Biographical Information

Isamu Teramoto signed with the Daimai Orions in 1962, but he only played 7 games for the big club before he announced his retirement in 1963. He later became an umpire for the Pacific League from 1964 to 1998. He worked 3,327 games in his umpire career, and he held the PL record for most games worked. Teramoto also worked 6 Nippon Series (1985, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1994) and 4 All-Star Games (1973, 1978, 1982, 1986). As of 2025, he was 7th in games worked in NPB history, between Hiroshi Fukui and Tadayuki Inoue.
