Biographical Information

Hyun-min Ahn has been the KBO Rookie of the Year.

Ahn was a second-round pick of the kt Wiz in the 2022 KBO draft. During his military service, he was a cook. He made it to the Wiz in 2024 but struggled at .200/.276/.400 in 29 plate appearances. Becoming a starting outfielder in 2025, he batted .334/.448/.570 with 22 homers, 80 RBI and 75 walks while registering 15 assists. He lost the batting title by .003 to Eui-ji Yang, tied Young-woong Kim and Dong-won Park for 10th in home runs, was 4th in walks (between Hui-dong Kwon and Ja-wook Koo), led in OBP (.029 ahead of runner-up Seong-yoon Kim), trailed only Lewin Diaz and Austin Dean in slugging and was second in OPS (.007 behind Diaz). He easily won the KBO Rookie of the Year, with 110 of 125 votes; Woo-joo Jeong was next with 5 votes.
