Biographical Information[edit]
Hisao Yamamoto signed with the Toei Flyers in 1961, and he played 109 games with a .231/.274/.340 batting line in his first season. He lost his spot at short after Koichi Iwashita shined in 1962, and he slumped to .143/.172/.143 in 26 games. Yamamoto only played 2 games in 1963, and he was released. The Chunichi Dragons picked him up, and he went 5-for-26 in 1964. He was 0-for-7 in 1965, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Yamamoto hit .217/.258/.313 with 83 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
