Biographical Information[edit]

Hiroyuki Shirasaki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years

Shirasaki was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2012 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Nao Higashihama, and he went 11-for-52 in 2013. He hit .234/.289/.297 in 101 games in 2014, and he crushed a career-high 6 homers with a .225/.269/.368 batting line in 2015. Shirasaki slumped to .207/.241/.350 in 2016, and he struggled again in 2017 as he recorded a .185/.200/.241 batting line. He crushed a game-tying solo shot against Higashihama in the 2017 Japan Series Game 6, but the Softbank Hawks still beat the BayStars in 6 games. Yokohama then traded him with Shuto Takajo to the Orix Buffaloes for Ken Akama and Hikaru Ito. Shirasaki hit .239/.288/.358 in 30 games in 2018, and he had a .204/.278/.327 batting line in 2019. He only got 3 appearances in 2020, and the Buffaloes released him. He later played for the Oita B-rings of the Kyusyu Asia League and he retired in 2022.
