Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroyuki Osada played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 11 years.
Osada signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes in 1958, and he only pitched 3 games in his first season. He went 3-6 with a 3.45 ERA in 1959, and he had a 2-9 record with a 3.45 ERA in 1961. Osada slumped to a 7.31 ERA in 20 games in 1962, and he pitched 17 games with a 4.18 ERA in 1963. He bounced back in 1964 as his ERA was 3.60 in 38 relief outings, and he recorded a 4.25 ERA in 26 games in 1965. Osada's ERA was 3.60 in 28 appearances in 1966, and he went 5-4 with a 4.42 ERA in 1967. He allowed 11 runs in 17 innings in 1968, and he went to the Hankyu Braves. However, Osada only pitched one game in 1969, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Osada was 17-29 with a 3.91 ERA, struck out 232 and pitched 451 1/3 innings in 11 seasons in NPB.
