Biographical Information

Hiroshi Tomiyama signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1957, and he was 0-for-4 in his first season. He went 3-for-16 in 1958, and he hit .169/.196/.199 in 63 games in 1959, splitting catching with Takeshi Yamashita and Takeyoshi Kiori, who were also under the Mendoza Line. Tomiyama only got 9 at-bats for the big club in 1960, and he announced his retirement.
