Biographical Information

Hiroshi Tobe was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 3rd round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he had a 8.18 ERA in 7 appearances in 2000. He only pitched 4 games in each of the next two seasons, and he recorded a 4.37 ERA om 35 relief outings in 2003. Tobe pitched 12 games with a 3.12 ERA in 2004, but he stayed in the minors in the next two seasons. The Marines then traded him to the Rakuten Golden Eagles for cash, but he allowed 20 runs in 14 1/3 innings in 2007. He didn't reach the big club in 2008, and he announced his retirement.
