Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroshi Mizutani played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Mizutani was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the first round of the 1968 NPB draft. He had a 4.11 ERA in 24 games in 1969, and he only pitched one game in the next two seasons. Mizutani went 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA in 1972, and he recorded a 3.40 ERA in 41 appearances in 1973. He had a 0-4 record with a 3.79 ERA in 29 games in 1974, but he only pitched 11 more games for the top team before he announced his retirement in 1978. He was a batting practice pitcher for the Buffaloes for 28 years after retiring.
Overall, Mizutani was 5-12 with a 3.80 ERA, struck out 82 and pitched 213 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
