Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroshi Kamizuru was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 1971 NPB draft, but he refused to sign and join the Sumitomo Metal team of the industrial league. The Yakult Swallows picked him in the 4th round of the 1972 NPB draft, and he only got 3 appearances combined in his first seven seasons. Kamizuru was 0-2 with a 3.79 ERA in 1980, and he only pitched 2 1/3 more innings before he announced his retirement in 1982. He then coached the Swallows from 1983 to 2001.
