Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroshi Ikeda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Ikeda was drafted by the Taiheiyo Club Lions in the 6th round of the 1975 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first two seasons. He was 3-5 with a 4.78 ERA in 1978, and he only pitched 3 games in 1979. The Lions then traded him to the Taiyo Whales for Hiroshi Okawa, and he pitched 11 games with a 3.38 ERA in 1980. Ikeda recorded a 4.50 ERA in 46 games in 1981, and he pitched 24 games with a 3.97 ERA in 1982 then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Ikeda was 5-10 with a 4.32 ERA, struck out 113 and pitched 226 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
