Biographical Information[edit]

Ishinuki was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 2nd round of the 1987 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He pitched 3 games in 1990, and he went 5-1 with a 1.98 ERA in 1991. Ishinuki allowed 5 runs (1 earned) in an inning in the 1991 Nippon Series Game 1, and he completed 2/3 of a shutout inning in Game 3. He added a shutout inning in Game 6, and the Carp lost to the Seibu Lions in 7 games. Ishinuki slumped to 0-2 with a 5.20 ERA in 1992, and he suffered from a left shoulder injury so he was placed in the minors before the Carp sent him to the Daiei Hawks for cash in 1995. He didn't reach the big club that season, and the Hawks released him. Ishinuki then signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines in 1996, and he retired after that season. He was a coach for the Marines in 2017.

Overall, Ishinuki was 5-3 with a 3.32 ERA, struck out 56 and pitched 78 2/3 innings in 3 seasons in NPB.
