Biographical Information[edit]

Hiromi Noguchi was 27-28 with a 2.14 ERA in the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League, and he struck out 96 in the 1980 spring season. That was the most in the league history after World War II, and only Yoshio Yuasa struck out more in league history. Coincidentally, Yuasa and Noguchi were born in the same district and went to the same school. He was drafted by the Hankyu Braves, Chunichi Dragons and Seibu Lions in the first round of the 1982 NPB draft, and the Lions won the lottery for the rights to him. However, he only pitched 5 games combined in his career for the top team, and he announced his retirement in 1988.
