Biographical Information

Hiroki Ueno pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years. His brother Takahisa Ueno also pitched in NPB.

Ueno was the MVP of the Tohto University Base Ball League in 2008, and he was named the Most Valuable Pitcher of the 2008 All-Japan University Baseball Championship Series. He was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 3rd round of the 2008 NPB draft, and he had a 3.94 ERA in 16 appearances in 2009. Ueno only pitched 7 games with a 4.20 ERA in 2010, then he went 4-7 with a 3.55 ERA in 2011. He had a 2.77 ERA in 5 games in 2012, and he recorded a 3.06 ERA in 42 relief outings in 2013. Ueno's ERA was 4.47 in 31 games in 2014, but he allowed 2 runs in 2 innings in 2015 then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Ueno was 11-10 with a 3.64 ERA, struck out 144 and pitched 262 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
