Biographical Information

Hiroki Kongo was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 9th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he had a 9.00 ERA in 9 games in 2005. He stayed in the NPB Farm League in 2006, and he pitched 4 games with a 6.75 ERA in 2007. Kongo notched 11 saves with a 0.68 ERA in the minors, and he led the Western League in saves (tied with Kazuya Tsutsui). He had a 6.39 ERA in 12 games in 2008, and he only got 2 more appearances for the top team before announced his retirement in 2012. He became the coach of Rissho University in 2022.
