Biographical Information[edit]

Hideyuki Yasuda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Yasuda was drafted by the Nankai Hawks in the 6th round of the 1985 NPB draft, and he mainly stayed in the minors in his first four seasons; he only got 6 at-bats for the top team. Yasuda 5-for-22 in 1990, and he went 6-for-31 in 1991. He also played 128 games with a .240/.316/.337 batting line for the Salinas Spurs in '91. Yasuda then played 43 games for the Hawks with a .182/.217/.364 batting line in 1994, and he hit .257/.257/.371 in 1995. The Hawks then traded him with Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Shinji Matsuda and Kazuhiro Takeda, and he played 59 games with a .243/.304/.379 batting line in 1996. Yasuda went 10-for-43 in 70 games in 1997, and the Fighters released him. He signed with the Chunichi Dragons, and he was 7-for-38 in 1998. Yasuda never returned to the top team again before he announced his retirement in 2000.

Overall, Yasuda hit .232/.276/.361 with 88 hits and 8 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
