Biographical Information

Hideyuki Hirata was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 1976 NPB draft, and he only pitched 2 games before the Carp traded him with Takuya Mochizuki and Takahiro Kenmotsu to the Lotte Orions for Tomehiro Kaneda and Hidetake Watanabe. He allowed 10 runs in 6 innings in 1979, and he only got 3 more appearances before announced his retirement in 1981.
