Biographical Information[edit]

Hidetaka Togin played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.

Togin was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 9th round of the 1967 NPB draft, and he only got 42 at-bats combined in his first two seasons. He went 13-for-55 in 1970, then he was injured and missed most of the 1971 season. Togin had a 1-for-21 record in 1972, and he finally got some chances in 1973. As Hankyu's main 4th outfielder, Togin played 107 games with a .294/.410/.405 batting line and 4 homers. He hit .288/.423/.405 in 1974, then he recorded a .237/.296/.351 batting line in 1975. Togin only had 27 at-bats combined in the next two seasons, and he announced his retirement in 1977. He later scouted for the Braves/Orix BlueWave and the Nippon Ham Fighters, signing Nobuyuki Hoshino and Haruki Nishikawa.

Overall, Togin hit .255/.352/.357 with 137 hits and 11 homers in 10 seasons in NPB.
