Biographical Information[edit]
Hideki Takahashi was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp and Hanshin Tigers in the 3rd round of the 1990 NPB draft, and the Carp won the lottery for the rights to him. He was 1-5 with a 4.69 ERA in 1993 after staying in the minors for 2 years, then he recorded a 4.10 ERA in 27 appearances in 1994. Takahashi allowed 5 runs in 4 innings in 1995, and he didn't reach the top team in 1996. He pitched a career-high 42 games with a 3.86 ERA in 1997, but he only got 2 more appearances for the big club before he announced his retirement in 1999.
