Biographical Information

Hideaki Takahashi was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he led the Western League in strikeouts in 2005. He also pitched 4 games with a 4.40 ERA for the top team, and he had a 5.14 ERA in 4 appearances in 2006. Takahashi led the minors in strikeouts again (11 more than Kazuki Yoshimi), and he was 2nd in wins. He didn't appeared in the big club in 2007, then he pitched 20 games with a 4.06 ERA in 2008. Takahashi went 3-4 with a 4.91 ERA in 2009, and he was 2-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 2010. He allowed 5 runs in 3 1/3 innings in 2011, and the Hawks traded him to the Orix Buffaloes for Keisuke Kaneko. Takahashi only got 5 more appearances for the big club in 2012, and he announced his retirement in 2013.
