Biographical Information[edit]

Hideaki Keimoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Keimoto was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 4th round of the 1977 NPB draft, and he played 105 games with a .258/.278/.313 batting line in his first season. His batting line fell to .216/.226/.275 in 1979, and he lost his spot after two new foreign players Jack Maloof and Jim Tyrone joined the team. Keimoto only got 6 at-bats combined in the next two seasons, and the Lions traded him to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for cash. He hit .216/.287/.324 in 70 games in 1982, and he improved to .281/.355/.365 in 1983. Keimoto then played 82 games with a .250/.328/.350 batting line in 1984, and he recorded a .273/.363/.325 batting line in 1985. He went 1-for-11 in 1986, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Keimoto hit .246/.306/.320 with 133 hits and 6 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
