Biographical Information

Henry Lizotte was the older brother of Abel Lizotte, who played 7 games in the major leagues, and Joseph Lizotte, who also played in the minor leagues. Henry played briefly in the New England League with Lewiston, ME in 1891 and Lawrence, MA in 1892, when he filled in for the visitors when they played in his hometown of Lewiston.

Born in Van Buren, ME, Lizotte moved to Lewiston in the late 1870s and helped to arrange and build the city's first enclosed baseball grounds in the late 1880s. He played for amateur teams around Lewiston, primarily as an outfielder, and was part of the team when they joined the New England League in 1891. He stayed involved with the local club as an occasional umpire and was part of the league umpiring staff in 1895.

Lizotte stayed involved in Lewiston afterwards as a policeman, salesman, health inspector, and musician. He was also involved in politics, serving as an alderman and in the state House of Representatives.
