Biographical Information

Hayato Tanabe was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 5th round of the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Tateki Abe. He hit .240/.291/.256 in 2020 in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he slumped to .185/.252/.250 in 2021. Tanabe bounced back with a .258/.311/.352 batting line in 2022, and he debuted with the big club on April 6 against the Hanshin Tigers. However, he was hitless in all 4 at-bats with them, and he announced his retirement.
